Amy Schlegel, Principal

I am honored to serve as the proud principal of St. Gregory the Great Parish School. I am entering into my second year at St. Greg’s and am grateful to work with an amazing faculty and staff who dedicate themselves to our mission every day.  I attended Mount Mary University for both my undergrad and graduate studies and completed my administrative certification at Concordia University. My husband Jim and I have a 17 year old son and a 14 year old daughter who keep us very busy, and we live on the northwest side of Milwaukee. I have over 20 years of experience working in Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and continue to build upon my strong faith in Catholic education. My personal mission is to motivate, educate, and inspire others to be their best. I am so happy to be a part of the St. Greg’s community.

Sherry Fritz, Administrative Assistant
Hi my name is Sherry Fritz. I am blessed and grateful to be part of St. Gregory the Great Parish School. In 2002 I was hired as the Parish Secretary after 25 years in the travel business.  I enjoyed my job as Parish Secretary and loved meeting and interacting with all of the wonderful parishioners. In the summer of 2003, Fr. Ken Omernick asked me to take the secretary position at the school. I was so excited I practically flew across his desk and accepted! I have never regretted that decision.  While my job has changed over the years and I am now the Administrative Assistant, I still enjoy coming to school every day. I love interacting with all of the students and families.  One of my favorite things to do is to give tours of our wonderful school to prospective families. I get the opportunity to know them and show off our school and parish community.

My husband Bill and I have two wonderful daughters, Amy and Noelle.  We love spending time with our granddaughter, Elena as well as family weekends at our trailer in Waupaca. In my spare time I love to bake, read, sew and scrapbook.

I am always excited to begin a new school year at St. Greg’s and look forward to getting to know our new families better and to see how much the kids have changed and grown over the summer!

Kelly Rohrbach, School Secretary

Hi everyone, my name is Kelly Rohrbach. I am starting my 3rd year as school secretary at St. Gregory the Great School. The past 2 years, I had the privilege of being the morning secretary but this year my roll has changed to the full time secretary position. Prior to being the school secretary, I was a Licensed Practical Nurse for 7 years in Pediatrics. When my husband and I started a family, I chose to stay home and raise our 3 awesome children for 10 years. My husband and I have been parishioners at St. Greg's for 11 years and chose to have our children come to school here. It was the best decision we ever made.  For the past 6 years, we have been involved with many things at St. Greg's. Whether it has been Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Soccer coach, Market Day co-chair, volunteer, parent, and now school secretary, St. Greg's has been a home to my family. We cherish all the friendships we have made and will continue to make. We are very lucky to be a part of the St. Greg's community.

Laura Bruno, Communications Specialist
Hi my name is Laura Bruno and I have been a part of St. Gregory the Great Parish in several capacities for the past eight years. Whether it has been as a parent, volunteer, school secretary or even a Girl Scout leader, St. Greg’s has truly been my second home. Currently, I am responsible for the school side of the website and Facebook pages as well as the school's newsletter. My husband Henry and our two girls love being a part of the community at St. Greg’s.

Kristy Floriani, K5 Instructional Aide

Hello!  My name is Kristy Floriani and I am excited to be the kindergarten aide this school year.  I graduated from Mount Mary College with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  I began my teaching career here at St. Greg's teaching third grade.  Since then, I have taught 4 and 5 year old kindergarten in other area schools.  For the past 4 years, I have substituted at various schools.  This year I am very excited to be with kindergarten each day.  I love seeing how they grow, change, and mature throughout the year.

My husband and I were married at St. Greg's and both of our children were baptized here.  We are proud to have our son in 4K here this year as well.

Mary Jablonowski, Grade 2 & 4 Instructional Aide

I am Mary Jablonowski. This is my fourth year as a member of the St. Gregory the Great staff.  I am very happy to be the second grade and fourth instructional aide this year.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University where I majored in elementary education and Spanish.

I enjoy helping students develop various learning styles and become more independent workers. I look forward to collaborating with the classroom teacher to provide a positive, faith-filled year of academic, spiritual, and social growth. I am especially excited to help the students become more proficient in reading and math as they learn to work individually, in groups, and as a class.

Prior to working at St. Gregory the Great, I taught primary grades in the Milwaukee archdiocese for 17 years.

My husband, Tom, and I chose Catholic education for our children from elementary school through high school. Two of our children also graduated from Catholic universities. Our family consists of our son Christopher, his wife Jenny, and their daughters Charlotte and Stella, our son John, and our daughter Kathryn.  In my free time I enjoy reading, aqua zumba, craft fairs, and fishing. I am also a volunteer catechist and a member of a faith sharing group.

Ms. Sarah Wagner, Grade 3

Hi my name is Sarah Wagner and I'm am very excited to be the 3rd grade teacher here. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in elementary education. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work at St. Gregory the Great for three years. I started as an instructional aide before becoming the 3rd grade teacher. I truly love teaching and being part of such a wonderful community. I look forward to everyday in the classroom!

Mrs. Lisa Jones, Grade 3 Instructional Aide

I'm Lisa Jones and I'm excited to be a new member of the staff at St. Gregory the Great Parish School as an aide in the third grade classroom.  As a child, I attended Catholic grade school and high school.  My experience includes working as a special education assistant, lunchroom supervisor and after school care provider.  Prior to that, I spent several years at home with my children and I also have office experience including working as a legal secretary.  My husband and I have three amazing children and a dog!  Music, piano, reading, plants and knitting are some of my favorite things.

Gayle Dayle, Grade 4
Hello and welcome to Fourth Grade at St. Gregory the Great Parish School! I am Gayle Dahl. I graduated from UW-Whitewater many years ago with degrees in Elementary and Special Education. I have been teaching in the Archdiocese ever since, for over thirty years now! My teaching career began in Second Grade at St. Adalbert School – I actually taught in my former third grade classroom! This is my 22nd year teaching at St. Greg’s! I love watching the sparkle in children’s eyes when they have discovered something new! I feel blessed not only to work with your children at school, but to take an active role in the faith community my family belongs to also.
When my schoolwork is done, I make time to cook and bake, read, and do counted cross-stitch. I enjoy time spent with family, friends, and travel – both near and far! Weekends can find us driving to Madison for sporting events or to visit our son who is currently attending pharmacy school there.

Lisa Bayer, Grade 5
Hi, my name is Lisa Bayer. I graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  I began my teaching career at St. Adalbert’s in Milwaukee teaching 6 th grade. After staying home with my children for a number of years, I was thrilled to get a job teaching 5 th grade at St. Greg’s. I am very excited to be starting my 19 th year at St. Greg’s. I taught 5 th grade for 12 years, and I have been a 3 rd grade teacher for 7 years. With another year of teaching underway, it becomes more evident to me that there are many different ways in which children learn. By introducing different learning styles throughout the year, it is my hope that the students will eventually find the style that works best for them. I believe that a student who is able to facilitate their own learning will take pride in their schoolwork, develop a positive self-esteem and will be successful in school. As a teacher at St. Gregory the Great, I am committed to helping students develop positive self-esteem by acknowledging their abilities, talents, and uniqueness as a child of God.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, taking our dog Lily for walks, counted-cross stitch, and sitting on my deck in Tomahawk, WI. As a parish member and teacher at St. Greg’s, I feel privileged to be part of a wonderful faith-filled community.

Sue Gallo, Grade 6
Welcome to 6th grade.  I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to teach your child this year!  I believe that all children are a gift from God and that they are all unique and special.  Children all grow and learn in all sorts of different ways.  I look forward to the challenge of helping them learn and blossom into confident independent learners.  I started my teaching career in 1991 with an education degree from Alverno College.  After teaching first grade at St. Florian School, I joined the faculty at St. Greg’s in 1999.  During my spare time, I love to read books, craft, go camping, gardening, spending time entertaining and enjoying time with my family.

Julie Sostre, Grade 7

My name is Julie Sostre and I am thrilled to be the seventh grade homeroom teacher this school year! Prior to my experiences here at St. Gregory the Great, I taught junior high for seven years in the Milwaukee area. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and a Master’s of Arts in Educational Policy and Leadership from Marquette University. I feel very blessed to be part of this learning community and I am looking forward to a fantastic school year!

Jennifer Herkowski, Grade 8

Hi there!  I am excited to begin my 5th year teaching at St. Greg’s.  I teach most of the subjects in 5 th grade, as well as 6 th grade math and as any of my students will tell you my favorite subject to teach is math.  I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2010 after having spent many years as a volunteer in my children’s Catholic School.  I really enjoy the relationships that I build with the families here at St. Greg’s and love watching the children grow and learn through Christ.

Mona Seidcheck, Learning Specialist

Hello.   I am Mona Seidcheck.  I am a Learning Specialist at St. Gregory the Great Parish School.  I graduated with a degree in Education in the area of Learning Disabilities from UW - Milwaukee.  I taught in a Learning Disabilities classroom in Milwaukee Public Schools for ten years.  I also was the Learning Disabilities teacher at Greenfield Middle School for five years.  I have been married for 32 years and have two children who also attended St. Greg’s.  I have been a parish member of St. Greg’s for over 20 years.  I love working at St. Gregory the Great Parish School!  In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to music and traveling.

Jean Dery, Breakfast and Hot Lunch Program Director

I have been the Lunch Director for 5 years. My family has been members of St. Greg's for 10 years and have had both of my children attend school here.

Alice Erlandson, Bookends Director

My name is Alice Erlandson, and I am delighted to again be part of the staff at St. Gregory the Great Parish School. I graduated from Michigan State University in 1983 with a BA in Education and taught for the next 20 years. My husband and I joined the parish in 1988 and later that same year I was hired as one of St. Greg’s sixth grade teachers. I earned my Masters of Education in 1996 from Cardinal Stritch University and continued to teach full time through the 2002-2003 school year when I decided to take some time off to raise our daughters.  In 2009 I returned to St. Greg’s as an instructional aide and had the opportunity to work with some wonderful teachers. In 2015 I became the director of Bookends, St. Greg’s before- and after-school program.

My husband and I are both from Michigan, so St. Greg’s has been our family and now is family to our daughters as well. All three of our daughters attend or have attended St. Greg’s. Our youngest daughter is currently in 7th grade. Our oldest two graduated from 8th grade in 2011 and 2016. We enjoy the many different opportunities available to our family through the school and parish, and cherish the lifelong friendships we have made here.

I have enjoyed many roles at St. Greg’s, including sixth grade classroom teacher, parent volunteer, school committee member, Girl Scout leader and coordinator, substitute teacher, instructional aide, and Bookends director. I love that I have made so many connections with parents and students over the years. One thing that brings particular delight is to run into my former students at church, the Festival, around town or even bringing their children to attend St. Greg’s. I love to hear what they have been doing since we last saw one another and to reminisce about Africa projects, read alouds, and prepositions!

Georgia Wendorf, Bookends

My name is Georgia Wendorf, but more commonly known at St. Greg's as Mrs. G. I have been at St. Greg's since 2003. In the past 11 years, I have had many positions here. My current role is the classroom aide for K-4 and K-5, supervision for the lunch period for K-4 and K-5, both morning and lunch recess duty for all grades, and a staff worker for our after school program called "Bookends"

I have been working in the school setting since 1988, working my first 13 years in food service, and in 2001 began working as a general teaching assistant for Milwaukee Public Schools. In 2002, I was laid off from Milwaukee Public Schools and found a position in 2003 at St. Greg's.

In 2005, I completed certification in Early Childhood education from Work and Family Consulting and now center my work focus on early childhood.

I have truly been blessed to have found St. Greg's and I love interacting and working with all the children here. My job brings me great satisfaction and I look forward to each new year!

When I'm not at St. Greg's I fill my time with my 6 grandchildren, gardening, scrape-booking, reading, travel and music, being a professional musician since 1992.
