ARISE
ARISE (Association for Religious Instruction, Special Education) is a collaboration of seven parishes to provide quality special religious education for their parish children, teens and adults who are challenged with disabilities.ARISE serves students who have varying degrees of learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and emotional disabilities, including but not limited to Down Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome, Autism Spectrum and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Depending on the specific needs of the student, he/she is placed in a specialized classroom, an inclusive classroom, or a combination of these. No new children/teens from non-collaborating parishes will be accepted.
ARISE welcomes students and volunteers! Classes are held on Monday evenings, October through April, at St. Gregory the Great Parish. This is a specialized one-on-one program, so it is important that new students enroll by August 1.
Small group classes as well as RCIA preparation will be offered for adults with disabilities. Call 543-8292, ext. 150, or email at arise@archmil.org for more information.
ARISE needs volunteer catechists to work one-on-one with students. Training and materials are provided. If interested, call 543-8292, ext. 150, or email at arise@archmil.org.
